And you can hear it in my accent when I talk, I'm an Englishman in Tdot.

Advent Calendar 2012 - Door Number One
Tis the season I pretend to be a blogger. Every year for the past 3 or 4 I Google search my way to an alternate image fest leading up to Christmas day. If you want to play along my scientific formula is to search using the day/date as the search term then pick the pics which sticks in my eye. Sometimes they be festive, sometimes just nice or strange encounters that I wouldn't normally have. Here goes...

Door Number Twenty-Four
The second giant to feature in my advent calendar, hope I'm not developing a macrophilia. This 22-metre-high, 50-tonne statue is called the "Hammering Man" by U.S. artist Joathan Borofsky in Seoul during Christmas eve December 2008. Now to arrange a brawl with the Angel of the North.

I guess I was wondering what Christmas would be like in Korea due the news of Kim Jong Il's death. This photo popped up along with an article explaining the celebration of the season in South Korean. Thanks to the South, the North will also be having some festivities infiltrate the border in an unlikely form.
This Christmas eve, Peeps - a popular brand of marshmallows will be floated in to the country by a Colorado-Springs based ministry with offices there.
"We believe that for one night, it's possible to share a simple joy with the people of North Korea"
You can sponsor a Peep for $1 here
While I'm sure today will be more about jokes at the dictator's demise, it's important to to hear the stories of those effected by his regime. Take a look at The Defector, a new crowd funded documentary & interactive project about those who have chosen to escape the journey to freedom.

takes a scatological spiral twist as I found a giant taking a dump in a Spanish mall on tumblr
When you think of that classic Nativity scene chances are a plastic baby Jesus, followed by a flock of fiberglass sheep & chicken wire shepherds spring to mind. In Spain however another character joined the three wise men dropping of a gift. El Caganer couldn't find a bathroom at the stable so is found taking a poop to the side in Catalan Christmas nativities. Just be grateful you didn't get cast as this character in the school play when you were a little shit!
Here are a few of my favourite ornaments that makes the fairy at the top of the Xmas tree glad she can only smell the scent of pine emanating from between her legs:

Been to any good office parties yet? Think I'm going to gate crash a care home. Hooray for seniors!
