2011 in Photos

I had a mad dash of clicks today making a 12 month wall calendar before the Kodak coupon I had from Black Friday at Old Navy expired.  I decided to pick an image from each month of 2011 to remind myself what what going on in life a year ago.  Here's the twelve I picked:

Corporate video shoot assisting for an interesting company that had the best catering ever!

Podcamp Toronto washroom graffiti.

A little slice of haunted home came to visit Toronto.

Hollywood North indeed!  Silent Hill: Revelation movie set appeared in Cherry Beach.

InsideOut Film Festival working with amazing people & Xenomorphs.

Trip to Niagara Falls.

Deep fried everything at the CNE

My third Toronto International Film Festival experience, keeping it fresh working with a Canadian film.

Accidental trip to Hawaii, who knew they had a film festival?!

Toronto International Reel Asian Film Festival rolls in to town.  Amazing moment on Nat & Marie, when You Tube star Mr. Kwon drummed live in their studio promoting A Drummer's Passion.

The month is still happening right now so who knows what else I might snap, but this was my favourite shot from the 107th Santa Claus Parade.

Wondering which twelve images will make up next year.  What were your highlights of 2011?

Door Number Twenty-Four

Door Number Twenty-Four
The second giant to feature in my advent calendar, hope I'm not developing a macrophilia.  This 22-metre-high, 50-tonne statue is called the "Hammering Man" by U.S. artist Joathan Borofsky in Seoul during Christmas eve December 2008.  Now to arrange a brawl with the Angel of the North.

Door Number Nineteen

Door Number Nineteen
I guess I was wondering what Christmas would be like in Korea due the news of Kim Jong Il's death.  This photo popped up along with an article explaining the celebration of the season in South Korean.  Thanks to the South, the North will also be having some festivities infiltrate the border in an unlikely form.
This Christmas eve, Peeps - a popular brand of marshmallows will be floated in to the country by a Colorado-Springs based ministry with offices there.
"We believe that for one night, it's possible to share a simple joy with the people of North Korea"

You can sponsor a Peep for $1 here

While I'm sure today will be more about jokes at the dictator's demise, it's important to to hear the stories of those effected by his regime.  Take a look at The Defector, a new crowd funded documentary & interactive project about those who have chosen to escape the journey to freedom.

Door Number Seventeen

Door Number Seventeen
takes a scatological spiral twist as I found a giant taking a dump in a Spanish mall on tumblr
When you think of that classic Nativity scene chances are a plastic baby Jesus, followed by a flock of fiberglass sheep & chicken wire shepherds spring to mind.  In Spain however another character joined the three wise men dropping of a gift.  El Caganer couldn't find a bathroom at the stable so is found taking a poop to the side in Catalan Christmas nativities.  Just be grateful you didn't get cast as this character in the school play when you were a little shit!
Here are a few of my favourite ornaments that makes the fairy at the top of the Xmas tree glad she can only smell the scent of pine emanating from between her legs:
Surprising lack of flies
Faster than a speeding bullet

Moves like Jagger
